The Dark Room

a man awakens in the dark room
and he decides to photo develop his pain

the film negatives are printed out
and the man’s pain crystallizes
as a 3 by 5 film photo
under the totalizing color of red

but what he sees
are imbricated emotions
almost transparent green
a rebellion of color
stained in teardrop
and two dilated pupils

the man cries silently
he must have dropped his camera
the moment he took
the photo
